Create Lists on Four Square

Why You Should Create Lists on Four Square

1.  Promotion - Use these to promote your business or your interests.

2.  Teach - Educate your readers and fans by letting them know what's great in the area.  Tell them great restaurants or free local parks, etc.

3.  Content & Fun - Customers like to see that they have something in common.  If you have a common interest like Leo's Pizzeria in your local area your customer feels more comfortable with your business.

I Love Tumblr

I absolutely love Tumblr, I like it way more than Facebook and here's why:

1.  Trending Tags - If something is liked and talked about it is easier to find.  There are some great tags that lead you to amazing things. Try Vintage or Poetry.

2.  Easy - It is really easy to use, only 1 page you have to mess with and it's not confusing.

3.  Visually Pleasing - It is a great visual site with lots of great pictures and it's really fun and quick to look at.

I highly recommend Tumblr.  Follow Me on Tumblr: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/buffaloonabudget

Ideas for You Tube Videos

The idea is to integrate your business on many different social media platforms.  Using You Tube is great because people love watching videos.  Each business is different of course but here are some tips for making your own viral videos.

1.  Use your video to teach customers something they may not know about your business.  Take this time to educate your consumer.

2.  Don't be boring.  Try to make it fun and interesting.  The more entertaining the video the more views it will have.

3.  Integrate your marketing efforts.  For example if you are trying to get more fans to "like" your fan page on Facebook, make sure you are posting your videos on there.  There are a million ways to do this.

4.  Finally DON'T FORGET to write the description and give the viewer a chance to see your website for business name.

Twitter Tips

1.  Retweet - This is the best way to gain fans & have readable content.  Retweet things from comedians, businesses or anything that relates to your content and brand.
2.  140 Characters - We all know you have only 140 characters to get your point across.  Remember to keep it even shorter if you want your fans to retweet it.  When someone retweets their name and the originator's name is in the tweet, making it longer.  Keep this in mind.
3.  Quick Info - A lot of people use twitter for quick information fast.  Remember that the more times your fans have to click to a different website, the less likely they are to read your information.
In Conclusion: Keep it Fun & Keep Your Brand in Mind

Facebook is Loosing You Credibility

Why is Facebook loosing you credibility?
1. Hackers - If someone hacks into your account, it could be all over from there.  Spamming and Viruses have been a part of Facebook since it became mainstream.  It can ruin your reputation if your account gets hacked.  Imagine your whole fan list getting some porn pictures from your brand.
2. Inexperienced Users - Anytime someone posts something on your wall they are automatically telling your fans that you approve of these services, products etc.  So when someone posts "FREE iPAD CLICK HERE" on your wall, your fans think it's from you a trusted source.
3. Your Own Friends - Partying with your friends is always fun, but remember online you have a brand to keep in tact.  So when your friends tag you in the album "Party from Last Night, 24 Hours Non Stop Drinking!" it reflects pretty badly on you.

Ways to Gain More Fans

1. Ask Questions - Ask what your fans are up to this weekend or anything at all.  Everyone loves to chat about their interests.
2. Talk About Your City - Everyone loves where they're from!  Comment on upcoming events or wish your local team luck in tonight's game.
3. Content - Gathering content is key to gaining more fans and followers.  No one will respond unless it's worthwhile content.  This is the best & easiest way to build your brand.

4 Items Every Social Marketer Should Have

Photoshop - To make, change and edit pictures.
How to Win Friends & Influence People Book - Building your brand.
Kindle Fire - Great priced tablet, is not a camera or a phone.
Webcam - The best quality the better!

Ways to Annoy Your Facebook Fans

1. Don't Post on Friend's Walls - If they are your actual friends or they previously approve then it's okay.  This can be incredibly annoying for the customer and might hurt your fan numbers, especially if they don't agree with what you post.
2. Don't Tag Everyone in Your Pictures - Odds are they really aren't in the picture, so don't do it.  There's nothing worse than signing in and having to remove yourself from all sorts of party promotions.  I have personally blocked people for doing this (after requesting they stop of course).
3. Don't Add People to Groups - Let your customers join themselves, no one wants anything shoved down their throats.  Suggest that they like your brand or request that they join, but don't add them automatically.
